The College of Pharmacy at Ahlulbait University (peace be upon them) hosts the seventh professional training course for pharmacists.
The College of Pharmacy at Ahlulbait University (peace be upon them) hosted the seventh Professional Preparation Course, organized by the Scientific Committee of the Karbala Pharmacists Syndicate representative office in cooperation with the College of Pharmacy on Monday, April 27, 2026. The course aimed to prepare pharmacists capable of handling professional requirements with high professionalism and efficiency.
The course was attended by a number of prominent academic and professional figures, including the First Deputy of the Iraqi Pharmacists Syndicate, Dr. Haider Abdul Amir Al-Muadhin; the Assistant President of the University, Prof. Dr. Bassem Al-Oqabi; the Dean of the College of Pharmacy, Prof. Dr. Ahmed Saleh Sahib Al-Khazali; the Assistant Dean for Scientific Affairs, Dr. Ali Fawzi Fakhri; the Head of the Inspection and Complaints Department at the Karbala Health Directorate, Dr. Sarmad Alwan Hussein; and the Head of the Karbala Pharmacists Syndicate, Dr. Ali Ghani Al-Maamouri, along with a group of college professors and participating pharmacists.
The proceedings began with a recitation of verses from the Holy Quran, followed by the national anthem. The Dean of the College, Prof. Dr. Ahmed Saleh Sahib Al-Khazali, delivered a welcoming speech emphasizing the importance of these courses in developing pharmacists' skills and enhancing their commitment to professional laws. The course then officially commenced with a speech by Dr. Haider Abdul Amir Al-Muadhin, who stressed the necessity for pharmacists to stay updated with modern legislation and regulations in the profession.
The course included a series of scientific and professional lectures covering the Law on the Practice of Pharmacy, the Pharmacists Syndicate Law, and the Narcotics and Psychotropic Substances Law, in addition to presenting examples of professional problems that pharmacists might encounter, while highlighting the role of inspection in monitoring pharmaceutical establishments. The course also included a lecture presented by the sponsoring company, the Swiss firm "Acino".
The course concluded with a test for the participants to assess the benefit gained from the lectures and to enhance their readiness to practice the profession according to the approved legal and professional frameworks.
